1) Which planet is this story set on?
2) How would you describe the weather on this planet?

5) What is the main reason why the other students do not like Margot?
6) What do the students do to Margot because she does not agree with them?
7) How is the sun described when it finally comes out on the planet?
8) How did the sun make the children feel?
9) How long do they have to wait before the sun comes out again?
10)What happened to Margot at the end of the story?
Making inferences: Small group discussion – have to come to a consensus on one answer
First model how to infer and find the clues. Do the first two together as a think aloud
1) Why do the children live on Venus rather than Earth? What clues tell you this?
2) How has the move to Venus affected Margot? What in the story makes you think this?
3) Why do you think Margot believed moving back to Earth was vital despite her family losing money?
4) Why do you think the students treated Margo this way? What clues in the text support your thoughts?
5) What are some ways the students adapt to their new environment? What evidence of this is found in the text?
