Final copy of poem

The final copy of the poem is due Thursday, October 17th.  This can either be shared with me at lmbly@educbe.ca or printed and left on my desk. The next step of the project will be a visual representation of the poem.  The students have some creative freedom to create a drawing, iMovie, slideshow or any other media method to best represent the overall feeling of the poem. The students need to be ready to share their poem and visual by Monday, October 21.

Poetry analysis

The students are beginning to analyze the poem "Dear Basketball" in preparation for writing their own original text. Here is a link to the Oscar winning short animation based on the poem.  Dear Basketball The students will be looking at how to write with a unique voice, organize topics and sub topics purposefully and use specific language to express their ideas. There will also be a speaking and representation component to this project.  The work will be done in class, so step-by-step modeling and feedback can be provided.
