Reading Responses
The students have been learning about how to thoughtfully respond to reading. As a class we came up with question that might be answered in a response and an example to use as a resource.

Example: In the book the
Breadwinner, there is a war going on in Parvana’s life and my parents have
talked me about war in the world. For example, my great grandfather was young
during one of the world wars. He lived
in fear of bombs just like Parvana. The
bombings were very destructive to their homes and the lives around them. Parvana’s home was destroyed and they were
forced live in a small broken down one room apartment. Also, both my great
grandfather and Parvana’s family experienced poverty. Her family had to sell many of their
belongings to get basic needs, including her father’s false leg. The times were desperate.
