Representation project


The grade 6's will be working on the following project this week before they head off to Outdoor school after the long weekend!

Grade 6: Representation Project

Assignment: Read the poem “The Road Not Taken” by Robert Frost

Compare and discuss the literal meaning versus the figurative meaning

Create a representation of the figurative meaning of the poem and how it relates or connects to you.  This could be something you have experienced or seen someone else experience.  It could be an example you have read about or one you can imagine.

Options for the representation piece could include:

Visual art (drawing, painting, photograph ect)
Creative writing: Poem, song, diary entry
Drama: Short play, dance or film (3 -5 min max)














Students will be marked on the following:

Interpretation:


4 – the representation is strongly connected to the figurative meaning of the poem and conveys a clear message

3 -  connects to the figurative meaning of the poem and contains a message

2 – connects to the poem and has a message that may be vague

1 -  does not connect or is incomplete


Creativity:

4 – original, carefully and thoughtfully constructed, detailed

3 – interesting, appealing, mostly detailed

2 – basic construction with some detail

1 – minimal effort, messy or confusing
